Creative Ideas for Water Garden Ponds

A great idea to adorn formal water garden ponds can be a container of some kind, either empty or planted up. This might be as easy as ordinary clay plant-pot, filled up with geraniums, or whatever you decide and will get or lug home from foreign parts. It happens to be very easy to pick up some very attractive pots, even just in the tourist spots, at cheap pricing, so long because they don’t exceed excess fat allowance, it will likely be worth the effort of getting rid of it.

One of the best gardens includes a large Turkish coffee-pot, of beautifully greened copper, near you the pool. It turned out rescued coming from a closing down cafe inside a country town and, despite its exotic looks, was quite definitely at home in this Hampshire garden.

Some simple urns and pitchers can be used, placed on their side. Close to the pool, as being a gentle fountain, with water pouring from the top, and returned, by a few discreet piping along with a submersible pump. A good option to look for these include auctions, jumble sales, junk shops, etc. Even quite unpromising shapes can be used the basis for your skills. Hideous colours can be painted over, ugly shapes could be used as armatures and built upon, etc.

For informal water ponds, there are lots of choices: plants, stones, boulders, pebbles, logs or various combinations of these, with areas of turf and perhaps a bench, of some rugged sort, so that one can possibly sit and meditate. This last, needless to say, would be useful, within a more sophisticated shape, through the formal pool.

The irregular shaped water pond is not the spot for statues, except just possibly an exceptionally strong-shaped abstract, more boulder-like than spiky. A fascinating natural boulder or rock could look right, and thus could a log or part of driftwood. Anyone fortunate enough to find a large fossil, such as an ammonite, could check it out at the lake to find out if it looked happy, whilst the morbid might settle for a cattle-skull among the Hostas.

Fountains do not belong here and besides, the Waterlilies tend not to much care for moving water, although if the pool is large enough you could have water gurgling gently into the pool from your stream, natural or man-made, while planting waterlilies within a calm patch at the far wall.
