The Properties And Benefits Of Argan Oil

There are many different lotions and potions open to care for your hair and skin today it’s challenging to choose the best one. If you take an outing into the local drugstore, you may be greeted by row after row of shelves full of various products, all promising to function wonders and make miracles. I think the one way to find out which merchandise is best for your needs is always to experiment and check out for yourself. Among my favourites that I have been using for a while now could be argan oil.

Sometimes termed as ‘liquid gold’, it is just a natural product, taken from the kernels from the argan tree which is native to Morocco. It is used as a moisturiser plus in products to tend nice hair. This is due to the fact that the oil features a high nutrient content and it is rich in fatty acids, anti-oxidants and vitamin E that’s vital for healthy hair and skin. Additionally it is renowned for making hair soft, silky and shiny also to help to make wild hair more manageable. Other reported great things about argan oil for hair include the promotion of healthy hair growth, prevention of scalp dryness and itching along with the restoration of dry and damaged hair. Like a non-greasy, easily absorbed oil it’s utilized as a skin moisturiser which can benefit dry skin specifically. It is usually recognized for it’s anti-ageing properties and a lot of advocates of argan oil have stated how it has helped their skin complaints for example acne and eczema. Personally i have tried argan aceite to help treat dry skin on my small elbows and knees and it did wonders for me personally and left my skin beautifully smooth and soft without irritation.

Because of it’s benefits, celebrities including Julia roberts, Charlize Theron, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Taylor Swift are typical users of argan oil to aid care for their hair and skin. It’s even starting out come in mascara formulas as it is claimed it will help to create your lashes longer and more lustrous. My tresses are very dry and possesses a wiry texture (it almost feels like fine fishing line) and also the oil in it’s pure form helps add moisture and softness to my hair. Even if you’re lucky enough to have naturally soft hair, argan oil is a nice finishing touch to incorporate extra gloss and shine.

Although finding shampoos, conditioners, hair-styling products and skincare products containing argan oil is not hard, due to the oil’s rarity they come at a relatively high price. While i mentioned before, the oil is purchased from the argan tree that is seen in southern Morocco. The original method of extracting the oil would have been to collect argan fruit, dry it, extract the nuts, crack these to reveal the kernels and after that to crush them to release their oil. The task was over personally and took fifteen hours of labour and thirty two kilograms of fruit to produce only one litre of oil! Today the kernels are mechanically cold pressed (heat damages the oil’s chemical properties). The tree is rare, extracting the oil is labour intensive… hence the high price. However, the good news is a bit oil goes further.

The scarcity in the argan tree is where the challenge lies. There are many products on the market now that contain argan oil or are marketed as ‘argan oil’ or ‘Moroccan oil’. However if you simply check out the label, you’ll find often other ingredients (including silicon) in larger quantities as opposed to actual argan oil. Cosmetic companies have to strive to ensure that the provision of argan oil is sustainable and of an exceptional, untainted by other oils or substances.

How do we know you will get the real deal? Should you be purchasing a product containing argan oil – look at the ingredients. Be aware of ‘argania spinosa kernel oil’, it must be up high the ingredients list and ideally, the merchandise should contain as few ingredients as you possibly can. The greater substances that the oil is when combined, the less efficient the oil will probably be. If you are buying pure argan oil, ensure it is inside a dark coloured bottle because light passing by way of a clear bottle can break up the oil’s chemical properties. Some items that are marketed as argan oil also have a carrier oil like olive or sunflower oil. Even be aware of the price you might be paying. Argan oil doesn’t need to be very expensive but simultaneously, this is a rare oil which is labour intensive to make therefore isn’t usually sold at a ‘giveaway’ price. The most effective argan oil product simply the costliest but remember the old saying, ‘you get whatever you pay for’.
