The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) tests all four language skills- listening, reading, writing and speaking. Candidates can choose either Academic or General Training. Subscribing to IELTS exam, you’ll need these requirements: 2 passport-sized photographs, original/photocopy of passport, payment, and fill up the application form.

You might have heard different testimonies from people regarding tricks of success in IELTS, but my story unfolds the blueprints: how I did well within my exam in mere twelve events of preparation.

Twelve days before my examination day, I phoned an examiner if she may be my own tutor for speaking; I’d just pay to be with her service. But she refused and laughed and said she couldn’t let me with my poor English accent.

She further added, “You needs to have corrected it enough time you commenced learning the language.”Then Specialists her, “Is it very easy to gain a band score of seven in speaking?”She answered, “Yes, however you have less probability of success.” Instead of being annoyed after our conversation, I didnrrrt get upset. I even thanked her on her honest opinion.

Around the next day, I told myself I might consider her remark as being a challenge. I knew it had been lower than fourteen days before my exam. But still, I can accomplish lots of things on this period of time. So daily, I tuned in to BBC radio and ESL podcast by Dr. Jeff McQuillan and Dr. Lucy Tse. I often spoken with myself alone in front of the mirror, pondering all possible topics from your interviewer.

On Oct. 12, 2013, I took the exam. I had been so excited on that day because I’ve waited with this opportunity. I knew I possibly could pull it off. In the interview, the examiner was nice in my opinion. I began talking around I really could and felt good about myself. The whole interview lasted for eleven minutes and went well. Then said to wait after 13 days for the outcome.

After the allotted time, I verified my IELTS score online. To my delight, I received 7 in speaking and 7 overall. Now, I’m so happy since i can renew my Visa Screen Certificate as a professional nurse in the usa; It is worth a go because I’ve conquered my fear once more. I trust myself when nobody is believing inside me except our kids and our Lord Jesus.

IELTS Tips

1. In listening, always see the instructions first. Some say here is the easiest part in IELTS, on the other hand think it’s complicated because you will discover matching exercises, a number of accents, typing in spaces, completing information, etc. However, doing daily exercises will sharpen your ears ultimately.

2. In reading, always browse the instructions first. Don’t spend too much period in one question if it is difficult to grasp a concept. Skip it and answer other questions. Apply your scanning and skimming techniques. Try to find the keywords and know very well what you’re reading. Don’t cheat when you are conducting exercises. In tangible IELTS, you won’t be given any extra time.

3. In some recoverable format, write eligibly. See the questions carefully and follow the instructions. Make sure you avoid repetitive words. For example, the use of the word “important,” avoid using it again within the following sentence. You can use its synonyms “essential” to indicate your reader that you’ve a wide range of vocabulary.
