Remember when finding comfort school meant purchasing a few notebooks, a new box of crayons, and new shoes? In the event you wore a uniform to school, it is likely you got one of those too; or even, you have 1 or 2 new outfits. That was it.
Well, times have changed. The supply list now contains items that had been supplied by the schools – like scissors, glue and tissues. Every child needs a new backpack, notebooks, paper, pens (red, blue and black), glue sticks, ruler, tape, scissors, markers, folders along with a calculator. When you have two children and you also shop the sales, you could still end up coughing up greater than $100.00 in supplies alone. Understanding that doesn’t even count the new clothes your son or daughter “has to have” or perhaps the fees which are needed for art projects, lab costs, etc.
Don’t even get me started on the supplies, including furniture and appliances, your son or daughter needs for faculty. Can it ever end?
Below are great tips to save cash on oil paints this season.
1) Recycle – Verify what you have in your house. It is likely you have assorted crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc. available your house. Put these together within a pencil box and that will help save a couple of bucks.
2) Re-use – Kids feel that last year’s backpack must go, but a quick trip with the washer may give it new life.
3) Reduce – Does your son or daughter use a notebook from a year ago which includes three pages of written material in it and 77 blank pages left? Would you find this notebook from the trash – or worse – the trash? Now is a fun time to go over waste and keeping it down by letting essentially the most use possible from every item.
