Keeping up with the expression “it is what it is”? Exactly what does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper meaning of this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru inside the lotus position floating over the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that might take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Since this is my last life on the planet and also the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the Course In Miracles is needed me clarify its meaning.
Is there a IT that we are covering here? In accordance with the Course in Miracles, It can be truth, specifically God’s truth. How come it’s imperative that you emphasize it is God’s truth? Because God’s the fact is not available to interpretations whereas a human’s the fact is. Multiple versions of human truth have lead to a many religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion as a “system of thought, feeling, and action that’s shared by the group knowning that increases the members an item of devotion.”
Who devised it of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? In line with the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal would be to return to an ideal state of being. There’s no thought or action within the state of being, you just are. What must not be forgotten may be the underlying thread coming from all religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite children of God.
Put one other way, “it ‘s what it is” could be rewritten to “God’s love will be the only truth and it’s also absolute” and also this truth knows no bounds and it is timeless.
