Cardada Cimetta
Perhaps you have belief that above Locarno there’s a view point where you can observe concurrently the cheapest point (Lago Maggiore) as well as the highest point (Dufour Peak in Monte Rosa) in Switzerland?
On the summit with the mountain, 1671 meters above sea level, a viewing platform was built which overlooks the entire region of Lake Maggiore. To the east the scene stretches from your Magadino Plain to Bellinzona. Towards the west the vista extends over many of the most famous peaks in the Swiss Alps including the Dufour. To the south, after dark mountains that surround Lake Maggiore, you can observe within the distance the Ligurian Apennines, located near Genoa.
Further down, several meters outside the arrival station of the cable car a footbridge was built which winds its way throughout the tops with the trees from the woods below. Because of this unusual scenic promontory you can admire the river, the Centovalli and areas of the Maggia Valley.
