Having a bunch of new materials and production methods invented within the mid-20th century, a barrage of recent frame styles soon followed suit and big round frames found they’d slipped from the stylistic radar. Now manifesting as sunglasses and opticals, big round glasses had doubly secured their place in popular culture history, having been written in the stylistic history books in, not merely one, but two cultural revolutions.
And it’s the truth that this classic style can still produce a photo of refined, studious authority that’s meant big round framed specs have not strayed too much in the frame style peripheral. Big Rounded lenses are some of the few true oldies; A bit of fashion history that may still pull weight today. As frames, they’re a detailed rounder. They look top-notch smaller than average wirey, or massive and chunky. They’re able to end a peek which has a stamp of intellectualism, or they could invoke feeling of care-free psychedelia. And whilst they are certainly not always suitable for rounder faces, they actually do a great job of suiting most face shape.
