Favorite NY Comic Greg Kritikos turns Misery into Movie Magic in CHARLIE BOY

Spend 1 Minute with Greg Kritikos and you’ll understand why this The big apple comic headliner has audiences flocking to him and great buzz surrounding his starring role in CHARLIE BOY, a whole new comedy movie by Timothy Hines.

Greg Kritikos was always going to be a beloved comedic celebrity. This gritty, street-wise, reformed gangster has become compared to Jackie Gleason for his heart and appeal. He is frequently desired to headline Ny City’s biggest and quite a few legendary comedy clubs, including Gotham, Carolines and Dangerfield’s. Now he could be the starring role inside the feature comedy CHARLIE BOY, which Kritikos co-wrote with Frederick Stroppel and this features Kelly Le Brock as Donna and Burt Young as Luca.

CHARLIE BOY, based loosely on Greg Kritikos’ real world, follows the tale of straight and sober recovering mobster Charlie Borakos. Charlie now functions as a standup comedian and, after many years of recovery and giving time for his beloved community of Astoria, Queens The big apple, he is still burdened from the guilt of his son’s death and friend’s maiming as a result of his drinking, drugging and negligence in history. When good friend Tommy G’s gambling problem surfaces towards the extreme and his prior mob boss Big Angie moves back in town, Charlie’s benevolent and save-the-day attitude and knack for doing all the guy can to help others and turn misfortune into laughter, saves the day and catapults Charlie to a higher level of enlightenment.

Charlie Boy director Timothy Hines says, “It was Greg and Frederick’s script that drove me to produce Charlie Boy. We’ve worked in this business for several years i have never read this kind of perfectly balanced and honest comedy. I needed to get this movie. And with Greg, a few things i let you know, he could be a walking dynamo and each inch an accessible humanist.”

“When I met Greg Kritikos I immediately saw this modern-day Jackie Gleason slash James Cagney man with a soul-spilling heart, who made me laugh my face off with one-liners and improvising,” comments producer Susan Goforth who is producing CHARLIE BOY along side Kritikos. “Kritikos along with Frederick Stroppel’s comedic writing, the leadership of director Timothy Hines and executive producer Dominick Martini as well as a heaven-sent cast and crew, and i also knew CHARLIE BOY would end up a victor. I’m just so thankful for anyone as well as the good fortune about this picture. I can’t wait for an world to view Greg Kritikos knock that one out from the park.”
