To start with, it must be understood that in Counter-Strike: Source (CS), there are many different map types. These types are:
Bomb Map (de). The Terrorist goal within a bomb map is always to cost a unique location (marked on your own map) and plant an explosive. The explosive is with a timer, so once it’s planted, you have to defend it until detonation.
The counter-terrorist goal on bomb maps is to avoid the terrorists from planting the bomb without exceptions. This can be achieved by reducing all of the terrorists, defusing the planted bomb, or (sometimes) defending the bomb site until time ends.
Hostage Rescue (cs). In hostage rescue maps, the primary goal for counter-terrorists is to rescue hostages captured and held by the Terrorists. You can even win by reduction of the terrorist team.
The Terrorist goal would be to simply prevent the counter-terrorists from rescuing the hostages by eliminating them, or maintaining power over the hostages until time ends.
Bomb Maps – Counter-Terrorist. Being a counter-terrorist on bomb maps, the best option (certainly) is always to get rid of the terrorist team before they are able to plant the bomb. Defusing the bomb enables you to a sitting duck, and this is an issue you would like to avoid. Keeping the terrorists seeking to plant the bomb means you get to remain on the defensive, which gives an advantage.
Bomb Maps – Terrorist. As being a terrorist, your main goal is to completely overrun a bomb site. If you can’t take over a bomb site from the first Half a minute, your team may lose the round. The top approach is to rush everyone on the team except for Several (tops) one site. One other few players will work as a distraction on the other site, so the counter-terrorists guarding it are not equipped in as re-enforcements.
Hostage Maps – Counter-Terrorist. I have discovered the most effective process to be spreading the team out and attacking from all of angles. Coordinate a simultaneous attack whenever possible, but make sure nobody just “runs in, guns blazing,” because that technique almost guarantees death inside a hostage map.
If someone side from the attack is able to punch through and get inside the area under Terrorist control, all of those other team should go on to that area in order to assist the attack.
