How weddings have changed in the decades! From the handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding ceremony members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and large wedding cars; three course meals to six course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Speaking of the latter, wedding speeches continue to be an important part of being married and guests do enjoy hearing them, discussing them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.
We have all heard of father of the groom speech delivered prior to meal, throughout the meal and after your food, however it’s of the strong opinion the wedding speeches must be delivered following the meal. I realize that for several bridal party speakers i.e. Father with the Bride Speech, Father with the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the 5 main speakers), they might want to possess the wedding speeches prior to meal, to allow them to enjoy their meal (a number of them are spending money for it!). However, it’s all about the invited guests and the way many (as wll as the wedding venue staff) would rather the wedding speeches to get delivered as soon as the meal for several reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and aren’t listening to wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which could be prior to the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival in the wedding venue)
Food might be cooked and served with the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches ahead of the meal in addition to their might be a delay of Fifteen minutes to at least one.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The marriage speeches work as the transition in the meal on the dancing (without a penny happening following the meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ being shared concerning the Bride & Groom then they know they are able to wake up, maneuver around, have a break, go for a walk, visit the bar…)
It can be hard for parents of the Bride & Groom to speak in public areas, since most of them couldn’t survive used of it. So, they may, whenever they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.
There should nevertheless be some type of formal speech(es) after the meal…
