How weddings have changed on the decades! Coming from a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals to 6 course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Talking about the second, wedding speeches are nevertheless a fundamental part of being married and guests do enjoy hearing them, referring to them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.
We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered prior to the meal, through the meal and after the meal, yet it’s of a strong opinion the father of the groom speech should be delivered after the meal. I am aware that for many wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father in the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the 5 main speakers), they will prefer to possess the wedding speeches prior to meal, to enable them to enjoy their meal (a number of them are spending money for it!). However, all is here the invited guests and exactly how most of them (as well as wedding ceremony venue staff) would prefer the wedding speeches to get delivered following the meal for a lot of reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and are not hearing wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which could be the case prior to meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food may be cooked and served with the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches ahead of the meal along with their is actually a delay of Quarter-hour one.5 hours, driving the kitchen staff crazy continuing to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
Wedding ceremony speeches behave as the transition in the meal to the dancing (without a penny happening after the meal, folks are expecting ‘a few words’ to be shared concerning the Bride & Groom and they understand they can wake up, move, have a break, go for a walk, see a bar…)
It can be hard for moms and dads of the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public places, as the majority of them wouldn’t be used of it. So, they could, if they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.
There should always be some sort of formal speech(es) as soon as the meal…
