Ramadan the Sacred Month of Islam

Ramadan falls on ninth month of Islamic lunar calender. During this blessed month Muslims around the word abstain from food, drink, as well as other physical needs in the daylight. Muslims believe its time to purify the soul, focus attention on God and practice self-sacrifice.


Ramadan is the month of re-evaluation by which Muslims re-evaluate their life in line with the Islamic guidance. The Arabic word “Sawm” (Fasting) which accurately means “to refrain” – This means not merely refraining from food and drink, but from evil actions, thoughts and words.

The tongue should be restrained from unwanted gossip and backbiting. Eyes mustn’t examine unlawful things and hand must not touch or take whatever will not are part of it. Ears mustn’t hear idle talk and obscene words. So, every part from the body observes the Sawm to attain purity.

Fasting is mandatory on every Muslim and starts everyday in Ramadan 2018 on the break of dawn and ends at sunset. The following exemptions are allowed as Allah does not want to place you to difficulties :

1.the insane;
2.Small children who are not adolescent;
3.older people and chronically ill to whom fasting is not possible;
4.women that are pregnant can postpone the fasting at another time;
5.travelers can also defer their fasting.
6.fasting can be forbidden for females throughout menstruation and may consist later.

Suggestions to make Ramadan a unique one :

1. Keep in contact at least one time a week with the fam, friends or with all your loved ones and share three Ramadan-related things you’ve done during the last ten days of Ramadan. Also don’t forget to send Ramadan e-cards to all or any your mates and loved ones.
2. Strengthen your friends or family members if they’re facing any difficulty in their life, keep a wide open heart to others. Don’t miss any small opportunities for gaining blessings.

3. Decorate your parking space with Ramadan balloons, banners and streamers and raise the environment.
4. Choose no less than five goals to pursue this Ramadan. Attempt to curbing your entire bad habit and commence something good , doing this will help you to change for the better.
