To the unwary onlooker, the drummers are creating a cacophony of sounds, but towards the trained ears of the drummers; a lively, heated argument or conversation akin to mobile phone chat nowadays is being conducted.

In jest, drummers happen to be recognized to question the beauty and womanliness of the other community and strength of the male folk. The drum was a fundamental portion of the communal life. The drum marked calendar of festivals in the communities. south east recorded deaths, births.
