With all the release of the brand new 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 continues to be an exciting year for gadget fans. Worldwide, everyone is taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to create pics and vids of themselves zipping around with this 2 wheel contraption which basically looks like a board which has a wheel on either side.
A mix of a skateboard as well as a segway, this mini Segway (without the handle) type thing is blowing up in popularity, fuelled to some extent by the volume of celebrities which have been seen using one. From Bieber assault to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, all have tried their hand only at that nifty little gadget, and seem to get stood a great deal of fun this.
Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (due to it’s likeness for the Segway, but a ‘cooler’ version) we are really not sure entirely where this particular self balancing scooter descends from or who invented the 1st. Most likely it descends from some factory in China. The 1st glimpses we got from it on tv were an item referred to as IO Hawk, a scooter that costs a stunning $1800. This became back in January of 2015. Ever since then many cheaper versions of the identical product have come on the market and the average price right now looks like it’s around $500.
So how exactly does it work? Basically you ascend to both panels and shift the body weight slightly forward or slightly back and it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. It may also turn left or right. This self balancing scooter is proving to be so well received it really is being touted since the personal mobility device into the future. Who wants to walk when you’re able to glide, right? Plus it’s actually a lot quicker than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
