A fresh 2016 Christmas rock n roll track has been written, composed and then studio recorded in a Phuket recording studio in Thailand by songwriter ‘Mark Hopkins’ with the main intention of bringing attention and exposure for the Phuket charity and children’s Orphanages that Mark supports. The tracks name is: I’m coming home for Christmas and the tracks is a distinctive up-tempo rock n roll song. Mark wrote and partially studio recorded a demo song guide of ‘I’m coming home for Christmas’ in late 2015 on Phuket island and has kept the demo song since then awaiting the opportunity to record once again. In August 2016 Mark started the recording process and used local session players to record the track over a 6 week period. The songs consists of 8 differant tracks and all session musicians were from the Philippines, including the lead singer ‘Micah Javier’.
Although I’m coming home for Christmas was recorded on Phuket island the mixing and mastering was done in the USA due to Mark wanted the best outcome and quality. The song ready to be listened to and downloaded by going to the ‘Tsunami Day’ web site.
The main purpose of studio recording I’m coming home for Xmas is to bring as many folks to the Tsunami Day site as we can and then hopefully in-turn they’ll be good enough to give to one or all of the Phuket charities, and to also download the song.
The other primary goal is to be able enough downloads of the song to fund and setup a Phuket live music club with open stage and recording studio / training room on Phuket, that will provide free lessons and tuition to local underprivileged kids from the area’s schools and children’s orphanages. Up to now ‘La QingTing’ is not open right now but the web site is below. (QingTing means: Dragon Fly in Chinese if you’re wondering).
About: Mark set-up the Tsunami Day site to promote his song Tsunami Day which was influenced from his own personal experiences while he was residing in Patong in 2004 once the Tsunami hit Patong on boxing day. Much like ‘I’m Coming Home For Xmas’the track Tsunami Day also brought awareness to regional Phuket Charities and Orphanages.
